 B&B DescriptionBirchwood is a pleasant, Victorian, licensed, completely re-furbished, English Tourism Council 4 Diamond Standard Guest accommodation. We have a total non-smoking policy. All rooms are en-suite and are equipped with colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities, complementary toiletries, alarm clock/radio, hair drier, etc. Rooms are serviced daily by our chambermaids and to ensure maximum comfort and hygiene, all bed linen and towels are supplied by a laundry service. In our comfortable Residents lounge you will find reading material or you can be entertained with our large screen digital service cable TV. A full English breakfast is included which is served in our separate dining room. Breakfast is freshly prepared to order with choices made from our Menu. Vegetarians are also specially catered for by our resident vegetarian. Birchwood is just a short level walk from the Southsea seafront and its many attractions. We are also only minutes walk from many restaurants, shops, bars, night-clubs. For travellers, we are located close (5-10 minutes drive) from the Continental and Isle of Wight ferry ports and a short taxi ride from the mainline railway and bus stations. For car users, whilst Portsmouth is an old Victorian city with the normal inherent car user problems, we are situated opposite a small park with on-road unrestricted parking all around. Portsmouth and its accredited World Class Waterfront has much to offer visitors. From the famous Historic Ships, D-Day museum, Royal Marines museum, Royal Navy museum, Submarine museum just across the harbour, Blue Reef Aquarium, Southsea Castle, Charles Dickens house and many more hidden secrets. |
